If you asked Natalie two words to describe herself, she would say Heart and Determination. She believes that if you’re going to do something, you should do it 150%. She is a lover of science, although she’s terrible at math. Other than the science of 8 limbs, she enjoy being outdoors and find our planet fascinating. Thusly, geology will be her retirement job after fighting. She has led and continues to experience a very adventurous life, knowing that it will only get better every day. “Mindset is the key to everything. You create your reality!”
Natalie grew up in a small town on the east coast. She says wasn’t always motivated and probably would’ve been voted least likely to succeed at anything. When she turned 18, all I could think about was getting out of that town before she knew she never would. So, just like that, she changed her future. At the age of 19 she moved out to Los Angeles and fell in love with the city. She initially moved for music school, which she completed, and soon realized that it wasn’t the right choice for her. This is about the same time that she found Muay Thai. The rest is history.
Natalie tried her first Muay Thai class in September of 2010 after scouring the internet for multiple gyms. “I was getting out of shape and looking for a fun way to exercise other than the usual grind of a regular “boring” fitness center.” After the first intense & sweaty session, she was completely hooked and within 6 months began training at The Yard Muay Thai. It was here that she began sparring in preparation for her first fight. This is where Natalie met her current trainer of over 10 years, Mark Komuro. Her first fight was a huge success! Since she began, the sport has completely transformed her life. Natalie states that, “I’ve learned many things about myself, not only as fighter but as a person. I’ve also met some of the most amazing people who have become a part of my family and I’ve even travelled the world doing what I love. I believe in leading by action and inspiring everyone to become the best version of themselves they can be!”
