Melody Trice, native of Century, Florida, recently had an opportunity to share her story. She spoke on a lot of things that were dear to her. One being, she was taught to speak her mind and not allow anything to hold her back. She says her upbringing taught her the importance of loving oneself and not allowing others opinions to write your life story. It was important to Melody to respect others and know that their truth may not be her’s and that’s ok. We learned that while Melody was growing up she was told by some of her teachers, and her peers that she’ll never be nothing. A heartbreaking revelation Melody added to the story saying, she had one teacher that believed in her and that whatever she set her mind to, she would succeed. This was the fuel she needed. Her life was forever changed. She further stated, ”Growing up I wanted to be a brain surgeon, or do hair, and after watching ER on television, beautician it was.” She has such a strong sense of humor with an overwhelming sense of conviction. She says she still laughs because she still ended up working on the head, doing their hair and also being a much needed friend to her customers. We quickly realized her life had many layers that were unfolding before us. Melody soon stated the reason she left all she knew and came to California. Claiming a strong sense of faith and being led by that faith to relocate. A scary journey that seems to be offering pleasing results.
Melody’s dreams now became her reality, she is now an international model, a tv host and a speaker inspiring others to live their lives unlimited. Dreams that many would say were not possible but she managed to make them reality. Having her faith and a small voice inside of her, encouraging her to keep going. The same traits that would cause her so much pain as a child now gives her and those who follow her a strong sense of joy. We could not help but be amazed at her story. Only one word could describe the emotions in the room “Wow”. Melody elaborated on how children would pick on her stating she was ugly. Now the very same people wait on her to upload pictures amazed at her beauty. Her philosophy and capacity to turn negatives within her life to strength and passion is something we can all aspire to. So now we all can encourage others by living our dreams. And, no one is more living proof of that in our minds than Melody Trice.
We asked Melody how she started and her response was, “How, I just did it” She said,” My talk show shares others’ life stories to empower the audience. My modeling inspires the young girls who look like me that they are beautiful enough to walk a runway. Encourage women over 40 that you are never too old to model. Lifts up the women with curves that are beautiful in the skin you are in. That’s why I do what I do, to show the world that life really is unlimited when we take the limitations off ourselves.” We absolutely fell in love with her.
We know life has not been obstacle free, so we ask, so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road? Melody’s response was “No, it hasn’t always been smooth. One thing that caused probably a lot of sets back, was holding on to the old mindset. But, I had these thoughts that every area works the same way. Absolutely wrong, big culture shock when I moved to California. I had this ideal that everyone was going to be nice and have my best interest. Especially since I was going to be living in LA, the melting pot capital. I soon realized that I had to adapt to my surroundings but not become my surroundings. Be confident in me and stand out, changing my mindset. What a perfect response.
As Melody knows, we’re big fans of her and her work. We ask her for the readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do? Melody said, “I inspire and motivate others through sharing my life experience. To enrich them to become the best version of themselves. Whether or not it’s being a television personality, modeling, or speaking on a platform, it all goes back to enriching others, empowering them to be the best version of themselves.” She mentioned to us how sharing her story or others stories gives her the fulfillment that she’s changing the world for the better, one mindset at a time. Her powerful response made us even more eager to follow her journey.
